How about the tortoise & the hare?
The tortoise kept moving towards his destination and came in first place after all.
Of course ,one of my favorites is the little red hen.
Tired and needing a little help, she kept on working without receiving any help or encouragement from others.
Just what is it you want to do?
Does your load seem heavy or hard to bear?
Does the road before you look lumpy, bumpy, too long or too steep?
Does your “mission” seem impossible?
Take a lesson from this little squirrel.
He saw what he wanted , he worked out a strategy and he WENT for it.
AND he GOT what he went after.
YOU can too.
The only way he wouldn’t have reached his “prize” was to not try.
I think our farm funnies canine crew (currently sleeping in front of the fire) need to watch this.

Here at farm funnies we sometimes have different animals befriend each other.
Sancho, our herdsire alpaca, had the most unusual friendship of all. had
His best friends Double Stuff ( our last ol’ granny nubian nanny)and Duck Duck
( I rescued Duck Duck and a feathered duck pal from the highway, they were both in very poor condition .
Despite good food and loving care ,Duck Duck’s feathered pal didn’t make it, sadly, sometimes that happens.
Like the three muskateers,this amazing trio were seen together everywhere, they would even snuggle down at night ,together in the stall. I could hardly believe this myself, sure wish I had thought to take pictures of them all
snug as bugs in a rug.
Sancho, Double Stuff and Duck Duck were all for one and one for all, come rain or shine,
or should someone try to come between them (like me just to do routine care)
It was a very sad time for Sancho, the youngest ,when Double Stuff, then later Duck Duck passed away.
He was so sad.
Trying to help Sancho, we even bought him a new buddy.
Hershey Tyee a rich chocolate colored alpaca pal…
They hated each other, they still do, we had to seperate them .
We now have other alpaca’s so Sancho is “OK”,
Hershey ? Well, he doesn’t seem to like anyone or anything except CHOW,his or anyone elses he can “snag” .
Oh ,for another Double Stuff and Duck Duck to brighten the alpaca “corner” of our little farm.
I miss them too.

I think it is so sweet to see animals who are best friends, especially when they are natural enemies.
Here at farm funnies you can sometimes see some amazing things,
but that is pretty much true when you share your life with animals.

A few weeks ago, while waiting for my plane to come and carry me back home, after a fantastic weekend meeting of our newly formed board, I met this lovely couple who were going on their honeymoon.
It was their 22nd anniversary.
They had chosen to recommit their vows,
have a wedding reception, cake and the whole wedding thing.
You could see the life long love and commitment,
in both of their faces.
To a seasoned married gal of 42 yrs (ME)
Not only could I see I the ups & downs, the passion & some pain, BUT the willinginess to stick it out & work through the small as well as the big stuff .
The young in heart bride started sharing some of the bits of wisdom ,they as a couple, used for speaking to groups as well as for councelling young marrieds.
I wish I could remember everything she said.
I do remember thinking , ahem I needed to go home and put more effort into our marriage, appreciate my hubby more.
I also needed to dust off my virtuous, womanly pact I’d made with myself YEARS ago,based on LIVING my married life in my personal quest of becoming a truly virteous woman as outlined in Proverbs 31.
Thinking on this again this morning ,it occured to me how far we women have come.
Change is usually costly, but it is not always better .
We have accomplished some excellant things, but I personally feel it’s to bad we , as a whole,threw out the baby with the bath water.
Listen closely and it seems most women applaud all that we have achieved.
There are songs about how strong we are, how clever we are , how “good” it is when we rise “above” a man, every man for that matter.
I’m thinking not only do we devalue and rob many good men, with this attitude, we also rob from ourselves.
To my way of thinking, the politically correct womans lib :
we are “equal” (better) mentality,
we woman should have the right to choose
(w/o anyone elses opinion considered) .
As a whole we applaud women who are sassy, gutsy even “witchy”
I even heard the song “witchy woman ” used in a wedding, HUH?
I’m not sure about you ,but if I was a fella , I sure wouldn’t want a witchy woman for my wife! )
Then we put down the non “conforming” women
belittle her sacrifice of self for her family,
her giving & serving or staying home with her children,
or who “SHOCKINGLY ”
wants to breast feed her baby.
Has this politically correct “mentality” caused a better society?
Isn’t it time for men to be REAL MEN and women to be REAL WOMEN
